How to Easily Cut Outside Corner on Baseboard. Owner Builder Series Ep 38

[Music] get Knuckleheads Uncle neck is here hands up who's ever attempted to install some baseboard or skirting board on an external Corner only to have it finish up looking like an absolute dogs breakfast with a big gap along that Leading Edge now there's a good reason why that happens when the plasters or drywallers put on their external angle and then cover that with mud it throws that 90° angle out of the ballpark as you can see here and it say more pronounced over a shorter distance and that's why your 45° angles on your skirting boards won't work now this little tip that I'm going to share with you now it's a bit of a Tradesman secret so M's the word forget about going out and buying compasses and protractors and learning Pythagoras Theory just cut your skirting board or baseboard to 46° that's what most contractors do and it works 99% of the time if you don't believe me get a couple of test pieces and try it out for yourself now you saw earlier how far out this corner was I've got my 246° angle cut on my baseboard or skirting board and they go together absolutely beautifully so there you have it how to easily install baseboard or skirting board to an external Corner great tip NE well I hope you enjoyed and found that video useful and as per usual a big thumbs up is greatly appreciated and if you haven't already please hit that subscribe button for more handy tips all righty time to put some baseboard on and then uh have a cup of tea so till next time I'm out of here cheers
