about forks i know what some of you are thinking you're thinking adam we've seen your videos before clearly you love to use a fork but you should learn to put it down sometimes first of all that's hurtful second of all i'm not talking about these forks of course i'm talking about these forks they're heavy when i first got my tractor a little over a year ago i had lots of visions of moving dirt and earth and tilling the ground and preparing gardens and moving trees and stuff and to a certain extent i do some of that but for the most part what i've actually found hold on this is really loud all right for the most part what i've actually found that i use the tractor for more than anything is a forklift i first bought these clamp on pallet forks whenever we did i think it was just before we did the no dig fence in the backyard because i knew that i was going to have a lot of lumber coming and i couldn't get that lumber to the backyard it was going to have to be dropped off in the front and i needed to get it to the back so i ordered these and you know honestly i can't even remember where i ordered these clamp on forks from i may have been off of ebay honestly and i think they were about 125 bucks and they have worked out amazingly well i mean i use these things all the time to move everything around here i can throw tree limbs on here i store everything on pallets and that's one of the main things now there's there's guys that are watching this video that have had tractors for years and all the stuff that i'm saying they're like duh okay you understand this but if you're new to a tractor you may not realize how useful pallet forks can be so there are some major downfalls to having the clamp on forks though on this la-435 front loader on my kubota tractor the load capacity the lift capacity i should say for this is about 950 pounds that 950 pounds is right here that's where the 950 pound capacity comes from and then as you move out according to kubota you know about 19 and a half inches so right about here that lift capacity drops to about 650 pounds well that's not even taking into account the weight of the bucket and then the weight of the skid steer quick attach and the weight of the clamp on pallet forks if i'm at 650 pounds capacity right here i would guess that by the time i'm right here i'm below 400 pounds of lift capacity now these have come in really handy and i've loved them and i would highly recommend if you're not sure if you should get some pallet forks you probably should get some pallet forks and you may want to start off with the clamp on ones i've put off getting regular you know a pallet fork frame with you know and basically they're all skid steer quick attach at least the ones that i've seen for my tractor have put it off because number one i didn't have a skid steer quick attach now i have a skid steer quick attach and the other thing that had me putting it off was the fact that these cost 125 dollars and these co that's it that rooster's had it that rooster you're getting it rooster you're getting it you're getting it get out of here get get it get it get it and these cost over 800 i finally decided to go ahead and bite the bullet and get a set of ssqa pallet forks and i'm really glad i did i just got these the other day and i've only used them a few times but i freaking love them already i would have loved to have gotten some land pride ones but uh they didn't have any in stock and we're gonna have it in stock at my local kubota dealer for you know like six months nobody nobody had them anywhere you can order them online from different places and luckily i order i called a local hardware store and of all places they actually had four sets of these and i was like don't sell them i'll be there in the morning so these are light duty these are like acceptable for a compact tractor i did find some heavy duty ones that had like a 4 000 pound capacity and of course they cost more and the thing is too with that is like if i'd have bought those not only would i've been paying more but i would have had more weight which would have just taken away my lift capacity so what i want to do for this video is kind of show the differences of you know you know you may want to start out with clamp on pallet forks but i'll show you obviously the benefits and there are lots of them to just getting an ssqa pallet fork first off the main benefit is pretty obvious every time i want to use these i don't want to pat this down never been talking every time i want to use these i have to take them off and on and off and on and let me show you here real quick what happens also [Music] come around here come right here come join me everybody come look you can see because you're having to tighten these down and you can get dents in your bucket right there and right here that's just something you got to live with if you want to use the clamp on ones you know and that's what i have lived with winter ssqa would that take me 20 seconds maybe now obviously my lift capacity has gone up because i no longer have the weight of the bucket and the weight of the forks way out front steps take into account the weight of the pallet fork frame and the forks but i guarantee you i've probably gained at least 150 pounds i would guess of lifting capacity back by using this system it's really convenient being able to put everything on pallets around the house anything that we need to move around it kind of makes the tractor even more of like having since we don't have a side by side to move stuff around out here and the golf cart is broken right now it's super convenient to be able to keep stuff on here especially heavy stuff on your pallets and move them around i really want to be able to show the difference as far as lift capacity is visually i'm not going to do numbers but let's just kind of do some fun visual stuff all right let's throw some tires up on there i don't dump them out here how much does a bag of cow poo weigh i have no idea i have no idea how much these tires weigh either runaway tire all right let's see if they can lift it okay let's add let's just say 225 pounds let's add 225 pounds to this pallet and let's see if it can lift it with the help of my beautiful assistant okay okay monkey try not to uh try not to fling me guys i may be about to do something dangerous and unsafe but when it comes to the safety of my home and family i get serious i've used simply safe to monitor my home for years and even my camper at times when i used to use
