[Music] get Knuckleheads Uncle n is here just a quick video today about the importance of leaving Expansion Joints in your brand new floor now we laid this floor about 6 weeks ago maybe 5 weeks ago and it was put on battens and then a solid floor was laid on top of those batons we've had Fairly humid weather over the last few weeks and when we put our expansion joint in that Gap there the expansion joint was around 8 mm wide we've had 3 weeks of humid weather and just to show you how far the floor expands check this out this set Square the Blade's about 3 mm wide and It just fits in that groove or that expansion joint so I hope that example has showed you the importance of having Expansion Joints in various spots in your brand new floor if that expansion joint hadn't been there these boards would have grown and eventually they got nowhere to go but up which is why you see some floors that have popped anyway when doing your brand new floor put those Expansion Joints in job's right great great tip knackers and don't forget big thumbs up and hit that subscribe button for more handy tips cheers
