WOOD DOOR HINGE REPAIR

today's quick tip how did repair a stripped out hinge screw with a golf tee so it's actually not the screw that's stripped out but the wood around this screw has pulled apart an alarm can hold the screw so the order to fix this we just simply use this golf tee so if you look at the golf tee here it's actually the perfect diameter for most of the screw holes in hinges but if you need a hole filled that's bigger the taper of the golf tee is perfect for that so generally what I would do is I just cut this off if I have to fill a bigger hole so that I'm now using more of the tapered piece and this really almost gives you an infinite amount of hole diameter to fill it's really a great option and a lot of people have golf tees around their house so to fix this you simply need to remove the screws and you can see here how this to strip that one it doesn't want to come out very easy the take your time it'll come out after you get them all removed just flick the hinge out of the way and what I like to do is that a little bit of glue to the tea you don't have to do this but if I got it on hand I'll use it then you simply put it in and I Drive it home with a hammer and then break the tip of the tea because that's important apparently and now that you can use it Atilla tea blade or if you have a flush cut saw like I do I'll just use that once it's trimmed wipe off the excess flip the hinge back into place and then you're going to need to pre-drill you can use the regular drill bit that's just fine before I actually have a self centering hinge bit so I'll use that and then search the screw like new alright that's the quick tip for the day hope it's been helpful see you in the next one
